The biggest boxes in town!

Our 580 litre XXL roof boxes are among the largest you can buy, and are best suited for medium to large cars, SUVs and people carriers. The capacity of this box is about the same as a large family estate car such as the Audi A6 Avant or the BMW 5-Series Touring and will comfortably store 3 to 4 standard sized suitcases.

From January 2024 we will only be renting 580 litre XXL roof boxes. Our remaining 470 litre XL roof boxes are being sold to make way for new larger boxes. If you wish to purchase an ex-rental 470 litre roof box please get in touch.

We want your roof box rental to be hassle free, so on collection we will first perform some roof bar safety checks, then we fit the box to your car and show you how it all works. All our boxes have triple-locking mechanisms and open on both sides for your safety and convenience.

To buy, or to rent? That is the question.

If you are considering a roof box rental, chances are you might have already considered buying a roof box. In many cases buying a roof box is a great idea, but it can be a large investment and you need space to store it when you aren't using it.

If you are using a roof box for just a couple of weeks each year, it would take six years to recover the cost of buying the roof box, compared to the cost of renting. You also need to factor in where you are going to store your roof box for the fifty weeks of the year it isn't being used!

Your bars or ours, we have options to suit.

If you do not have your own roof bars and your vehicle has "raised" or "integrated" roof rails, we may have bars you can hire. If your vehicle has fixing points in the roof, we can put you in touch with an authorised Thule dealer for further advice.

If you have your own bars, our boxes will fit most square, aero and wing blade styles less than 70mm wide and 25mm deep, but do check with us if you are concerned.

We do not recommend fitting roof boxes to vehicles that require roof bars that clamp over the door frame as they do not provide sufficient grip to hold a loaded roof box in the event of an accident.

Please note: when using your own bars they must have a minimum load rating of 75kg. If in doubt please call for advice.
